Leyon Flanged Resilient OS&Y Gate Valve
Description
Leyon gate valve is one of the most widely used valves in the industry for on/off control of fluid flow. Unlike ball valves, which use a rotating ball to control flow, gate valves operate by raising or lowering a flat or wedge-shaped gate (disc) within the flow path.
The key components of a gate valve include:
Valve Body: The outer casing that houses the internal components.
Valve Gate (Disc): A flat or wedge-shaped barrier that moves up or down to start or stop the flow of fluid.
Valve Stem: Connected to the gate, it transfers motion from the handle or actuator to the gate.
Yoke and Bonnet: The stem passes through these external structures that protect and guide its motion.
When the valve is fully open, the gate is entirely withdrawn from the flow path, allowing for an uninterrupted flow with minimal pressure drop. When closed, the gate seals off the flow completely.
Key Features of a Gate Valve:
Linear Motion: The gate moves vertically up or down to start or stop the flow.
Excellent Pressure Handling: Gate valves can handle high-pressure and high-temperature fluids.
Low Flow Resistance: When fully open, the straight-through design minimizes turbulence and pressure loss.
Used for On/Off Control: Not typically used for throttling because partial opening can cause vibration and damage the valve seat.
